This Time I'm Not Leaving Without You

I can't stop listening to You and I by Lady Gaga. :3 Mason Lockwood from Vampire Diaries is in the video. If you haven't seen it, you can watch it here.

Let's see. My last update was about Easter break before my finals. Since then I've:
  1. turned nineteen
  2. finished first semester
  3. returned to KK
  4. boxed up the contents of an entire apartment in two days
  5. returned to Brisbane
  6. hung out with Sam and Orson who visited from Sydney
  7. had Harry Potter movie marathons before watching the final movie
  8. started second semester
  9. flown to Sydney to celebrate mom's birthday with her after the first week of class & made it back in time for my Monday morning class
  10. completed my first two assessments this semester
  11. finally been to Ekka
It would be accurate to say that Sam and Orson are Tommy and Charlene's best couple friends, who study in Sydney. They came to visit us for a week. During that time, we went to Movieworld twice, Seaworld once and Wet n Wild during the icy end of winter (not our brightest idea). We also went strawberry picking, wine tasting, glow worming, go-carting, had poker nights and Spit tournaments, in which we managed to rank ourselves, stayed over in Gold Coast and visited Sunshine Coast. Before Sorson arrived, Charlene and I drew up an itinerary of their visit and included meal choices and places of interest so we wouldn't waste any of their time. During those few nights, the guys would be playing Fifa while the girls would be taking naps cause we'd wake up so early in the morning to begin the activities on said itineraries. Either that or we'd start drinking and playing cards. All good fun. Then Sorson left and we thought we'd only be seeing them at the end of the year back in KK.

BUT THEN! (Gasp! Twist!)

After my first lecture this semester, we were told that mom would be in Sydney that coming weekend for some meetings and not in KK with Jamie to celebrate her birthday like we'd originally planned. So Char and I decided that we'd fly over to Sydney to hang out with mom after my last lecture of the week, which was on Wednesday. That night we reached Sydney, took a train from the airport and navigated our way through the city to find mom's hotel. The rest of the week, we'd spend our mornings and early afternoons with either Sam or Orson between their classes, roaming the city, eating at the fish market till we acquired a gag reflex to raw oysters, shopped a lot because everything in Sydney was on sale. :D Also, we'd stare at handsome sushi makers (well, it was really just the one and we established that while he was quite good looking, his ears stuck out and his body wasn't really proportional to his head ). Afterwards, mom would join us and we'd do a lot of exploring and shopping and eating. :D Eating is wonderful. :3 It was lovely seeing mom again so soon after KK.

We went to Ekka on Wednesday! By we, I mean Char, Tommy, Doug and I. And by Ekka, I'm talking about this agricultural fair in Brisbane every year. They have cows, goats, dogs, cows, llamas, cows, rollercoasters, cows, strawberry ice cream, cows, game stalls to win soft toys, cows, face painting, show bags, cow dung, cotton candy, bumper cars and horrible excuses of Corndogs. We spent quite a big playing games and riding rides and on the entrance fee. It was fun but I doubt we'd go again. :P I have no photos of Ekka cause I didn't know what to expect and I wanted to ride rides and not have to worry about my camera.

I'm quite lazy to talk about the rest. But I tell you what. I'll caption some of the photos from the PICTOBLOG below since they're out of order. Only some cause some are pretty self explanatory. Okay? (y)

So many dolphins! :3 they responded to us calling for them with our dolphin calls.
Yes. We sounded like idiots. BUT THEY CAME!!

Sea lion and seal show! :D
We literally ran past all the children and parents slowly making their way to the auditorium when we heard that the show had just started.

Dolphin show. :3 They're so smart.
It'd be eerie if they didn't look so adorable and not sinister at all.

Manta rayyyy!

These are live penguins.

In one pet shop in Gold Coast, the owner lets people take the puppies home for a night so they're not alone in the shop. Such a cool concept! You get to get all the impulsive I-want-a-dog out of you for a night.

Sam insisted that there were hardly any photos of me. Grabbing cash before heading to the Casino.
