Suddenly I'm Not So Young
Speaking of uni, I've got all my classes lined up and sorted out the enrollment. A little later than most people but at least I got it done. I'm not so excited to go back to Brisbane just yet. Even though a large majority of the people I've been spending my days with aren't around anymore. I guess it's just the lingering feeling that something good's going to happen. But if there's one thing I'm excited about Brisbane, it's... long pause... watches Liverpool Wigan game... I guess it would have to be eating at Top Sushi with Beyla or Ian. I swear that they are my only friends there. OH! I forgot! How silly of me! Another thing that has me quite happy is that Karen is going to be in Brisbane this year. In fact, I just sent her off this morning!
I'll be flying to KL on the 15th to stay overnight with Fay and Titus. :3 Then fly back to Brisbane the next day. I can't wait for Emily and Elayne to come back from Singapore though. So we can spend my last few days in KK this year.
Talk soon!

You Are The Brightest
While blog hopping,
Me: Oooh an update!! :DDDD I wonder what's been going on with his/her life!
Blogger: hey guys just a short update...
Me: FFFUUUUUUU
I'm not saying that short updates are definitely horrible updates, but sometimes I wish I could read a more honest and raw update of their lives rather than getting a few photos (guilty) and some vague sum up of their week (also guilty). And you know what? I'm rambling.
LET THE UPDATE BEGIN!
I shall begin from 2 posts ago.
On the 13th of December, we spent a few days in KL to get some amenities we hadn't already had for the trip. You know, boring stuff. During those few days, I got to meet up with Fay and Titus and had an absolutely wonderful time. It felt really good hanging out with Fay again as i have missed her so much. At the same time, it sucked cause it was only for a few hours. And OBVIOUSLY, that wasn't enough.

| huhu ugly Titus photo |
Fastforward past the horrible fourteen hour flight from KL, and we arrived at London, Stansted airport. We were all really excited about the cold. Cold, at the time because it wasn't snowing. Yet.
also the order is messed up. so.. :P It's probably best if you came back tomorrow.

Cause You're Not Where You Belong
& Happy birthday, Derek. Once again, i'm not around for your birthday. Though i guess, it doesn't really matter anymore. Have fun and I wish you well.
For the rest of you, i'll see you when i get back.
Christmas love,
Steffi.

Just To Even The Score
Anyways, I've been spending most of my days doing mundane things and my nights hanging out with the same few people. People being Emily. It's been great seeing her again and having our scintillating conversations irl as opposed to communicating via Skype, text or twitter, like we have been. Unfortunately when we're together, the urge to take photos completely disappears which results in me not having a lot of photos of Emily. I'm hoping to correct that in January when I come back.
In case you're confused, we're taking a family trip to the UK. Huzzah! I've never been there so I'm super excited & also, it's been snowing there and I've never seen snow. It's going to be great, i hope. We'll be going to London, Paris and Scotland. Hopefully, we'll get a glimpse of Nessie. The trip is two weeks long and I'll be back on the 2nd of January. That's our trip, basically. Our flight to KL is tomorrow morning and we'll be staying there for a few days which gives me time to meet up with Fay. *Excited face*
Anyways, the OC gang finally had our annual hang out on the 29th of November. Jotting the date down just so I'll remember. It's been difficult for the four of us to meet up at the same time since we're all separated. The last time we met up 4/4, was 8th of September 2009. Awesome stuff. The short version of the day is Ryan was late, tricked into watching Rapunzel (ahem, I mean Tangled), Daytona, DDR, photoshoot, beach, sunset, skipping rocks, gym. Sorry, I don't feel like going too much into detail but at the same time, i don't want to forget so... this works! :D IT'S A WIN WIN SITUATION. Not really though cause you guys don't get to hear about it. Pssshhhtt as if we want to hear about it. DAMN STRAIGHT YOU WANNA HEAR ABOUT IT. okay stop.
Photos for your viewing pleasure. All of the photos from November are up here.
The degree to which i miss them is insane. It feels like punishment, not being able to see them everyday. blebleble. We just get along really well and that doesn't happen a lot for me. Oh, ill-fated affinities destined to end.
This post took a lot longer than I thought it would. I hope it pleases you and that you enjoyed reading it. Thank you & please come again!

Like Monsters Are Real
The world is still spinning and people are living their lives, everything seems the same but nothing's the same, not to us. I miss my dad & I'm sure he'd love to if he could but he can't come back. It's heartbreaking, really. A friend of Jamie's told her that it's not something you get over, but something you learn to accept. And i think that's pretty accurate.
I've been seeing 4wd cars around KK these days which makes me think that the 4x4 Borneo Safari is happening soon since it happened around the same time last year. If you're a long term reader of mine, you might remember my dad and I taking the Renegade to kick it off last year. We had said that we'd finish it in 2010 together, the whole 8 days. It's unreal how things can change so suddenly and have such a big impact on your life.
Awhile ago, I'd found myself thinking that he was just away in KL or Sandakan like he always was. But that was unhealthy. And apparently I wasn't the only one who had thought this way. Charlene told me she felt the same way but we both agreed that we needed to deal with the situation and not be in denial. Wouldn't want to go mental.
And on that lovely note, while there is so much I could say about my dad, I'm just going to end by saying that he was the best dad anybody could ever have and we'll always love him and we miss him dearly.

Swimming Through Sick Lullabies
This weekend was kicked off with a little dinner party at our place followed by some hanging around, Man Bites Dog and Blockus 3D. Everything seems to be in 3D these days and it's starting to get ridiculous.
Man Bites Dog is a hilarious game which if you haven't already heard of, you should check out. Basically you have to make up headlines with words on different cards but the sentence (statement) has to be grammatically correct. & most of the time the headlines are absolutely ridiculous, like "PRIEST RUNS AWAY WITH DOG" or "ROMANTIC KILLER DRUGS BLIND JUDGE". It was hilarious.
We probably stopped playing and dispersed around 3 or 4am. That was a good night.
Saturday and Sunday was spent at home. I really haven't left the house since i returned from English class on Friday. Take that as you may.
Anyways, i'm going to get back to reading The Bell Jar because i aim to finish reading it today. I've been stuck on this book for waaaayyyy too long.
Hope you've had a great weekend!

In Another Life
It was nice to see them again. And they were very excited to be here. I'll be seeing them again quite soon. So I'm glad. We just sent them off to the airport and their flight probably just took off. Fun schtufff.
We didn't get to go anywhere like Gold Coast or movie world or dream world or any other world due to Charlene's and my class schedules but we've been busy dealing with some other stuff so it's all good. Now it's back to it just being the three of us again. Crowded house is not that crowded anymore.
In other news, D: presentations this week.

Turmoil Of The Night
I had an economics assignment due on Friday by 9am in both hard copy and soft copy. Naturally I worked on it on Thursday after my last class of Accounting at 6pm till around 12.30am which is when I happily discarded my assignment into the assignment box. I walked home, took a shower and waited to fall asleep. I started reading till a point where my vision was getting blurry due to my extreme tiredness. At that point, I turned off the light and climbed back into bed where I was greeted by minutes upon minutes of staring at the ceiling in the darkness and thinking about things that I would only think about when I can't sleep. Torture. My own personal form of torture. I don't know why my mind does this to me.
Class starts late on Fridays. And by late, I mean 1pm. The schedule I was assigned is pretty sweet because with the exception of Wednesdays, my classes generally start after 11am. After class, I got excited by the prospect of going book hunting. Something I had done many times before with companions. Unfortunately, I always felt bad for making them wait around for me while I took my time browsing and running to other book shops. So today I went alone and I did very well! :D I bought 3 books today.
Books I bought:
1. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I have been meaning to buy this book and read it for quite awhile now. However, funds were tight and books are expensive. BUT I HAZ IT NAO!
2. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
It's a classic so I had to read it.
3. The Beach by Alex Garland
This one was sort of a last minute request from Jamie. She had read a copy of it which belonged to her friend and she wanted a copy and apparently it was a good book and that I should read it.
DROOL. I can't wait to start reading. I'm currently still on The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. Loving it. I haven't read a lot this year but I'm starting to get back into the swing of it. Most definitely a good thing! I guess you could say that buying books to me are like buying shoes are to an average girl. An average girl who gets a bit crazy when it comes to shoes and wants to own every pair of feet hating shoes that have ever been invented. Heh.
SO, questions for you guys! 1) What are you reading right now? or What books would you like to read? 2) What recommendations do you have for me? 3) What is your 'reading books' or 'buying shoes'?
Let me know down in the comments!
No photos today because I'm horrible and haven't been treating Frank fairly.

Find Out How Much They Can Take
Anyways, my table isn't only messy this week because I've been busy with homework and such but it's actually always very messy. I'm guilty of not being neat.

It's A Simple Fact
1. Never leave things to the last minute.
Sounds easy enough right? I have some trouble with this one because often things come up and get in the way of what you need to do. Be sure to stare down the urge that wants to tell yourself eh, i can do it tomorrow. Sure you could but in most cases, you'd probably find something else that sounds better and more fun.
In short, get your shit done before you decide to do something fun that won't benefit your future.
2. Never overlook the time you have with good company/You don't know what you've got till it's gone.
The thing about this is I realized it a little too late. I suppose sometimes you never really think about what would change after you leave or you get separated. Clichéd, but i guess you can also call this 'You don't know what you've got till it's gone'. Fine. I'll add it up there. Happy?
3. Accept change.
Change is bound to happen no matter what and that is a fact. There's no point lingering in the past. Embrace change and learn to enjoy it. It definitely makes life less miserable.
4. Always listen to your parents' advice.
Cause most of the time they're telling you because no one else will tell you and they're only looking out for you. Unless.... they tell you to kill yourself or something abusive like that. In that case, don't but you know what I'm talking about right?
5. Try your hardest at everything.
I definitely have some regrets about not applying myself very well in secondary school and in learning my violin. Can't help but wonder what I'd be doing now if I'd gotten 98.9% average or if i had finished my grade 8. Maybe i'd be doing music right now.
But I digress. I really do mean it, though. Do your best so you won't have any regrets.
6. Finally, enjoy life.
I understand that sometimes you just feel like wallowing but that would just represent another day wasted. I know it doesn't sound like much but I'm 18! Already! hah i'm legal. It's strange because I remember when I used to wish that I'd grow up sooner so I can go out by myself etc. This year has gone by so fast. Soon I'll be home and with friends and family again. I can hardly wait.
This is one of my favourite quotes by Oscar Wilde.
"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all."
Moving on!
I woke up around 7am today, before my alarm. I have no idea why I even woke up so early. My class today starts at 11am. D: I couldn't get back to sleep, so I worked on some research we had to do.
Life's great! Can't sleep early! Can't wake up late!
Actually it wasn't too bad. Classes were as they are all the time and I made the most of it. After the last class, I went to the computer lab to work on some homework. After I bade my friends goodbye and started walking to the main door, I noticed that a bag of crisps was stuck in the vending machine. And I just had to.
I called a few of my friends over and they tried shaking the vending machine but to no avail. So we decided that it'd be a gamble to see if we could dislodge that pack by buying one of the keropoks above that one. When it didn't work, another friend decided that the weight of both of the packs were heavy and another pack would prove to be heavy enough to make all of them come down. It didn't. I went back to the computer lab and asked another friend to come take a look cause he was missing everything. hahaha After a lot of kicking and shoving of the vending machine, he decided that the momentum would be big enough to get everything moving. hahah in the end, there were just four packs of crisps. Sitting there. Everybody got fed up and went back to the computer room and i went home. The End.
Oh! And I've added these two buttons down here so it'd be great if you guys could give me some feedback on my posts so I'll know what you like and what you don't like. And also, leave me some comments so i'll know that i'm not just talking to myself.
